Mercure Monte Igueldo, San Sebastian

My stay at the hotel was truly unforgettable. The room was not only large and comfortable but also offered stunning ocean and city views. The friendly staff made my experience even better. However, being positioned towards the lighthouse instead of the bay, I personally preferred the natural cliff view over the city bay view available from certain areas.

The hotel offers stunning views from the balcony, but lacks soundproofing, leading to potential noise concerns. The rooms themselves are lovely, with amazing views that make up for any shortcomings. The service was a mixed bag, with some instances of warmth and professionalism, but also a disappointing experience with towel replacement. The location, while beautifully situated on a mountaintop with sea views, may inconvenience those seeking easy access to city attractions. The dining options, though not exceptional, serve their purpose despite limited choices. Overall, a mixed experience with some standout features and some drawbacks.

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, offering great views of San Sebastian, but they felt generic in terms of decor and furnishings. The proximity to the kitchen area caused occasional smells to seep in, which was a downside. The service was lacking in anticipation and attention to guests' needs, particularly for English-speaking tourists like us. Despite these drawbacks, the location was excellent with stunning views of the sea, making it a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The dining experience, however, was disappointing and overpriced, not meeting the expectations of a luxury hotel.

The hotel is perched right at the top of a hill with incredible views, although it's a bit of a drive from the town center.
